8MSolar is a leading solar installer in North Carolina. We are looking for a dynamic self-motivated commercial sales consultant to join the team.
Job tasks include but are not limited to:
- Select solar energy products, systems, or services for customers based on electrical energy requirements, site conditions, price, or other factors.
- Understand how commercial solar projects work, whether public or private bidding.
- Understand how to read bid specifications, handle RFQs, understand commercial electric rate structures and how to size solar.
- Provide customers with information, such as quotes, orders, sales, shipping, warranties, credit, funding options, incentives, or tax rebates. Should be able to understand financing options and discuss these with customers.
- Gather information from prospective customers and breakdown their electric bills to identify their solar energy needs.
- Provide technical information about solar power, solar systems, equipment, and services to potential customers or dealers.
- Calculate potential solar resources or solar array production for a particular site considering issues such as climate, shading, and roof orientation.
- Foster relationships within the commercial construction, engineering and installation industries to develop new accounts.
- Use Employer’s CRM to keep the entire team up to date on active proposals.
- Using Employer’s project management software to keep the operations teams abreast of developments with active projects.
An understanding of how solar PV systems work is required. Prior solar sales experience is strongly desired. The role includes meeting customers face to face as well as remotely via zoom etc. Strong verbal and written communication skills are a must. Familiarity with CRMS and basic Microsoft Office products such as Office / Excel / PowerPoint is necessary.
